FLGISA 2020 ANNUAL CONFERENCE NEWS

It is with great regret and disappointment that we are announcing the difficult decision to cancel the FLGISA 2020 Annual Conference due to take place August 3-6, 2020 in Boca Raton, FL.

The FLGISA Board of Directors and staff have been closely monitoring the latest developments and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic these past few months, and have made the decision to cancel the FLGISA Annual Conference.

Our concern has always been and remains the safety of our members, vendor partners, and staff. We heard from many of you through our survey to the general membership, and we listened. A great number of you currently are unable to travel within Florida due to travel restrictions imposed by your jurisdictions, and while some areas within the state are reopening businesses, the uncertainties around future physical/social distancing restrictions will make it impossible to safely host attendees gathered in one location.

Additionally, many of our attendees hold roles as public servants and are expected to lead by example during these challenging times. We want to make sure that not a single individual is exposed to the virus as a result of attending the FLGISA Annual Conference, nor create a risk of anyone taking the virus back into their homes or communities. With this level of uncertainty, potential risk, and being mindful of everyone’s need to plan travel well in advance, we felt the only option was to cancel our FLGISA Annual Conference.

As such, the FLGISA is switching gears and working hard on providing you with some great content and valuable information in the form of a virtual conference this Summer 2020. More details coming soon! To our respected vendor-partners, thank you for continuing to support our organization! We hope to engage closely with many of you in the short-term for us all to continue learning more about your solutions to bring positive change in making our jurisdictions stronger, smarter, and more secure!
